Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bat first.
Lahore Qalandars openers start well with the bat but Fakhar Zaman falls quickly by scoring just 6 runs off 9 balls. Akeal Hosein picks up the big wicket of FakharZaman. The other opener Sahibzada Farhan shone with the bat and scored 63 runs from 43 balls including six fours and three sixes. After this Jahandad the new emerging batter played a beautiful knock of 45 runs on 17 balls and helped Lahore Qalandars to make a good total of 187 runs.
From the Quetta Gladiators side, Akeal Hosein is the star with the ball as he picks up two big wickets by giving away just 17 runs. Also, Muhammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed picked up one wicket each.
While chasing the big target of 188 runs Quetta Gladiators openers started well with the bat and made some quick runs but soon Jason Roy was bowled by Sikandar Raza while he made 24 runs of 19 balls. The other opener Saud Shakeel also made quick 40 runs of 23 balls. The 22-year-old emerging player Khawaja Nafay showcased his talent and proved himself as the key in the run chase as he made a beautiful knock of 60 runs remaining not out and winning the match for his side.
So, Quetta Gladiators beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets as they won both opening matches of PSL9.
From Lahore’s side, Zaman Khan showed some performance with the ball as he gave away 27 runs in his 3.1 overs spell. While other bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are disappointed with the ball and the main reasons behind Lahore loss.

Khawaja Nafay young emerging batter is the player of the match for his 60-run inning of 31 balls.

The fifth match of PSL9 will be played between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in Multan Cricket Stadium on 20 February 2024.
